Kerkering had gone 19 straight appearances without allowing a run before giving up one on a HBP and two singles today. This obviously won’t hurt his standing in the Phillies pen. The team has had only four saves this month, with two going to Kerkering and two to Matt Strahm.

Sánchez missed his career high in strikeouts by one and went without a walk for a third straight start. He’s allowed seven runs in 34 innings over five starts this month, taking his season ERA down to 2.79. He’s 14th in the majors in that category and 15th with 103 strikeouts. Next up for him is a start against the Padres on Tuesday.

Harper probably won’t go on a rehab assignment, so he might be only a few days away from coming off the injured list. He’s been out since June 6 with inflammation in his right wrist.

It’s just a routine day off for the veteran, who is hitting .288 in 18 games in June with 11 runs scored, six RBI and one steal. Realmuto is likely to finish with around 10 home runs and 10 steals on the season, so he no longer packs the punch that he used to in fantasy leagues, but his prominent role on a good team keeps him in the mix in two-catcher leagues. Rafael Marchan will start in his place.
