Padres selected the contract of 1B/OF Trenton Brooks from Triple-A El Paso.
Brooks heads to San Diego to give the Padres some additional bench depth with center fielder Jackson Merrill landing on the concussion injured list ahead of Sunday’s series finale against the Diamondbacks.
