Corbin was able to strike out six over his six frames, and he issued just one walk. The 35-year-old was much better than he was in his outing against Baltimore last week, even while allowing eight hits. His ERA is now 4.26 on the season with a respectable — but far from excellent — 66/24 K/BB ratio over his 15 starts and 82 1/3 innings. He’s scheduled to be back on the bump against the Padres on Sunday. You should probably find a better option for that contest.

Dunning provides Texas’ overworked bullpen with a badly-needed fresh arm in the wake of four consecutive extra-inning contests. The 30-year-old righty has operated in long relief this season out of the Rangers’ bullpen, recording a respectable 5.40 ERA across five innings (two appearances).

It’ll likely wind up being a brief stint for McKinney in the big leagues with Evan Carter on the bereavement list until Friday’s game against the Padres. The 30-year-old journeyman outfielder latched on with Texas back in late May on a minor league deal as emergency depth. He’s gotten into 321 games between seven different organizations dating back to 2018.
