Wilson, 30, has been ineffective off the bench, and the Phillies will send the outfielder down to Lehigh Valley while replacing him with Buddy Kennedy. Assuming Wilson gets back on track in the minors, he should rejoin Philadelphia; albeit in a role that offers no fantasy upside.

It’s just a procedural move that opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for Buddy Kennedy. Nola will be eligible to come off the injured list right after the All-Star break, but there’s no guarantee he’ll be ready to return given his rib and ankle injuries.

Kennedy will replace the struggling Weston Wilson on the roster. The 26-year-old will be a bench option capable of playing a few positions in this stint with the Phillies.

Suárez was straight up lights-out in this one. The lone run he allowed came via a home run by Connor Norby on a 2-1 cutter that bled a little bit too far over the heart of the plate. Otherwise, he was virtually unhittable. Suárez owned the low-and-away corner with his sinker, changeup, and curveball against the Marlins’ all right-handed lineup. They barely made any hard contact and never came close to sustaining a rally. Those eight strikeouts were also a season-high. He’ll take a gorgeous 2.20 ERA and 6-1 record into a challenging two-start week with games against the Astros and Braves, both on the road.

Roden was set to start in left with Myles Straw (ankle) unavailable, but his own trouble will keep him out of Thursday’s lineup. Will Robertson will instead get the start and hit eighth against Ryne Nelson and the Diamondbacks’ bullpen.

Altuve was one of five Houston hitters who ended up with three-hit nights in a game where the Astros picked up 20 hits and three homers. Altuve’s came with a pair on off Caleb Ferguson, and it extended the lead to 5-1 for Houston while also giving him a dozen homers on the season. Altuve has really picked things up since being moved out of the leadoff spot, and his slash is up to .277/.322/.442.
