Rosenthal mentions that the limited number of right-handed hitters on the trade market could make García an attractive option, especially since he’s under team control next season as well. With the Rangers falling out of contention, García could be the team’s most valuable trade chip. Rosenthal believes that, “As long as he continues producing offensively, his trade value would be greater at the deadline than during the offseason or at next year’s deadline.”

Eovaldi was back to his usual tricks in this one after a rough return from the injured list last time out. He forced multiple swings-and-misses with his fastball, cutter, and splitter and the Orioles were never able to get anything going against him. However, he was only able to work up to 72 pitches in this outing. The Rangers are continuing to limit Eovaldi’s workload after he spent a month on the IL and returned to the team without going out on a rehab assignment. Expect him to stay around this 75-pitch limit next time out against the Angels.

It’s the second time in the last three games that Doyle has found himself situated on the bench, both times coming against right-handed pitchers. He has struggled mightily at the dish this season and if he winds up on the short side of a platoon role in center field, any fantasy value that he may have had in deeper leagues falls away. Mickey Moniak will start in his place once again and will bat fifth for the Rockies against White Sox’ right-hander Adrian Houser.

Hilliard went unclaimed after being designated for assignment by the Rockies on Tuesday. He’ll remain in the organization but he’ll need to be added to the 40-man roster if they determine him worthy of a promotion.

Adell plated the game’s first run with an RBI single off of Bryce Elder in the top half of the first inning. He would add another couple of singles before the night was through, but the Halos were never able to cash him in. The 26-year-old outfielder continues to sizzle at the dish, slashing .250/.322/.496 with 18 homers, 47 RBI and three swipes on the season.
