Martin hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since the 2022 campaign when he got into 13 games for the Orioles. The 30-year-old middle infielder fortifies the Rangers’ organizational depth after a strong 22-game stint with the Gastonia Ghost Peppers of the independent Atlantic League.

Langford wasted no time starting the scoring here. He smoked a double 105.3 mph off the bat as the second batter of the game to drive in a run and chipped in two more hits as the game wore on. Stuck in a bit of a slump until the past week, he’s hitting .310 with an .877 over his last seven games and could be ready to go on a hot streak.

The Royals did all their damage against Corbin in the third inning after a walk, two singles, and a loud three-run homer from Maikel Garcia. Nearly every ball that inning was hit hard and Corbin gave up 10 hard-hit balls in total. Most found gloves though, and Corbin was fortunate for that. He’s lined up for a two-start week coming up against the Orioles and Mariners.

Carter takes a seat with lefty Kris Bubic toeing the rubber for Kansas City in this one. The 22-year-old former top prospect has been on a roll over the past few weeks, hitting .293 (12-for-41) with three homers and three steals over his last 15 games. It’ll be Sam Haggerty getting a chance in left field and occupying the leadoff spot in his place on Wednesday night.

There wouldn’t seem to be much reason to throw Chourio strikes early in the count, but Gray missed middle-middle with a sweeper to start their third matchup in the fifth. Chourio hit it out, and Gray was lifted immediately afterwards. Chourio is now tied with Christian Yelich for the Brewers lead with 41 RBI, and he’s one behind Yelich in homers.

Chourio opened the scoring in the contest with a 409-foot (102.7 mph EV) two-run shot off of Grant Holmes in the third inning. That would be all of the run support that Quinn Priester and company would require. The 21-year-old budding superstar also reached on an infield single in the first inning. On the season, he’s now hitting .257/.283/.441 to go along with 11 homers, 39 RBI and 13 stolen bases.

The Brewers put up a lackluster offensive performance here totaling just three hits on their way to being shut out. However, Chourio managed four hard-hit balls, all of which were hit in the air. He’s beginning to pull himself out of his early season malaise with a .901 OPS over his last 15 games while making better swing decisions and hitting the ball harder, just like he did in this game.
