Curtis Mead

Rays optioned INF Curtis Mead to Triple-A Durham.

With Ha-Seong Kim returning from the injured list, the Rays needed to send out an infielder and unfortunately it was Mead who drew the short straw this time around. The 24-year-old hit .225/.320/.342 with three homers, eight RBI and four stolen bases in 128 plate appearances with the Rays. He’ll return to an everyday role at the Triple-A level until he’s needed once again.
