First, Havlorsen got the final out of the eighth, stranding two runners after replacing Victor Vodnik. That left him with a two-run cushion in the ninth, and he needed it, since he gave up three hits then. It’s just the third time Havlorsen has been scored upon since the beginning of June. He’s the clear favorite for saves in Colorado right now, though that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll get every opportunity the team generates.

Estrada hardly crushed the homer — at 96 mph off the bat, it wasn’t even be considered a barrel — but it tied the game at 2-2 in the first. Estrada later knocked in runs with a groundout in the third and a single in the seventh, giving him the fifth four-RBI game of his career. He’s hitting a nice .317/.339/.436 through 25 games, though his exit-velocity numbers don’t really back it up. The bigger concern from a fantasy standpoint is that he was caught stealing (after being picked off) today for the third time in four attempts this season; he needs the steals to be worth using in mixed leagues, but he just hasn’t been able to contribute there since 2023.

Freeland departed with a two-run lead, but that was blown right away in the seventh. It’s the fifth time this season that he’s exited in line for a win, but he’s just 1-9 in 16 starts. He’ll make his next start in Boston against the Red Sox.

Tovar, 23, has been able to take batting practice and off the tee in the past week, but being able able to run the bases is a big step Rockies manager Warren Sheffler told reporters that Tovar is close to having a rehab assignment, so there’s a chance we could see him back in the lineup for Colorado not long after the All-Star break.
