Ohtani homered off Chicago rookie starter Shane Smith in the fourth inning to extend the Dodgers’ lead over the White Sox for his only hit of the game. It was Ohtani’s fifth home run in eight games and marked his fifth straight 30-homer campaign. The 30-year-old star is hitting .287/.387/.637 with 83 runs scored, 55 RBI, and 11 steals across 389 plate appearances. He’ll make his third pitching appearance of the season on Saturday against the Astros. Unreal.

This is the first time that Treinen has faced hitters since being placed on the IL with a forearm strain back in April. If this goes well, Treinen could head out on a rehab assignment, and rehabs for relievers are usually shorter than for starting pitchers, so it’s feasible that we could see Treinen back in the Dodgers’ bullpen by the middle of July. With Michael Kopech (knee) landing on the IL this week, Treinen could easily work himself back into high-leverage innings in the final months of the season.

Sheehan has been one of the trendiest names in fantasy baseball after his tremendous season debut against the Padres, followed by a 13-strikeout start in Triple-A. Things were not as smooth on Tuesday, as Sheehan struck out two and walked one. He did allow only one extra base hit and threw 39 of his 59 pitches for strikes, but he wasn’t as crisp as he had been in his previous outings. It’s a good reminder that Sheehan missed all of last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, so there should be some inconsistencies expected as he works his way back. He is still a worthwhile stash in fantasy leagues, but his role in Los Angeles is uncertain, and there will be some blips like this along the way as well.

Raleigh takes a seat for just the third time this season as Seattle attempts to manage his workload amid an extended stretch without any off days built into the schedule. It’ll be Mitch Garver handling the catching duties with Jorge Polanco at DH on Wednesday night. The 28-year-old slugging backstop has put together arguably the greatest first-half performance by a catcher in fantasy baseball history with a major league-leading 33 home runs, 71 RBI and nine stolen bases through 84 games. He’s definitely earned a break.

It’s merely a procedural move since Alvarez has already missed two months due to a chip fracture in his right hand. The 28-year-old slugger is eligible to be activated at any point in the future. However, that won’t be any time soon since he was shut down on Monday after experiencing renewed hand soreness while taking dry swings. He’s scheduled visit a specialist later this week to determine the next steps in his recovery process. The hope for fantasy managers at this juncture is that he doesn’t wind up needing surgery, which would likely be season-ending.

Malloy provides Detroit with some extra right-handed pop for the second contest of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Padres. The 25-year-old has posted a respectable .638 OPS with one homer and 16 RBI across 45 games this season in the big leagues.
