Sonny Gray

Sonny Gray allowed four runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Pirates on Wednesday while striking out six and walking one.

Gray had allowed just one run on three hits in his first six innings of work, but he allowed a walk and two singles early in the seventh inning and watched all three runners come around to score against the bullpen. Not that it would have mattered since the Cardinals couldn’t put any runs on the board against Mitch Keller. Gray will hope for better luck next week in a good matchup against the Nationals.
