Hernández remains on the bench for the third straight contest as he continues to recover from left foot soreness. The 32-year-old slugging corner outfielder underwent precautionary imaging over the weekend that didn’t reveal any fractures. It’ll be Andy Pages continuing to patrol right field in his absence. There’s a chance he’s ready to return later this week, but we’re not anticipating the Dodgers taking any chances with the All-Star break looming.

Díaz returns to the majors for the first time since late April. The hard-throwing 28-year-old former closer fell out of favor in Cincinnati after six abysmal appearances to open the year after battling injuries and mechanical issues during spring training. He hasn’t pitched a ton at Triple-A Oklahoma City since being traded to Los Angeles, but the club is ready to give him a look, presumably in low-leverage spots.

Fernández returns to the minors after tossing two innings on Monday in his Dodgers debut. The 29-year-old lefty figures to rejoin Los Angeles’ ever-changing relief mix at some point later this month.

Edman will sit out his third consecutive game on Tuesday evening as he continues to recover from a hairline fracture in his right pinkie toe. It’ll be rookie Hyeseong Kim taking over at the keystone in his absence. The Dodgers are one of the few teams with the organizational depth to absorb an extended absence without a trip to the injured list. The versatile 30-year-old figures to be ready to return at some point later this week and should be a full-go coming out of next week’s All-Star break.

Cora added that Masataka Yoshida (shoulder) will be at DH in his return from the injured list. It’s unclear how playing time will shake out for Jarren Duran, who has been at the epicenter of trade discussions recently, with Anthony transitioning to left field. It certainly feels like Boston is preparing to move on from Duran at the trade deadline based on their recent decisions and the sudden emergence of Ceddanne Rafaela as one of the better center fielders in the American League.

The 23-year-old Brito, who has already missed eight weeks this season with a torn thumb ligament, is hitting .256/.357/.463 in 24 games for Columbus. There’s a good chance he’d be the Guardians’ second baseman right now if he could have remained healthy since the start of the season.

Fraley was found to have a tear in his right shoulder, but since it’s not his throwing shoulder, he thinks he can play through it and have surgery after the season. He’ll probably be activated as soon as Thursday or Friday, which could lead to a demotion for Connor Joe or Christian Encarnacion-Strand.
