Hernández also singled, and had the only two hits for the Dodgers off of Logan Webb. The 32-year-old outfielder has gone deep 12 times; a number that’s more impressive when you remember it’s come in 55 games because of injury. It’s nice to see some success for Hernández after his awful start to the month of June, as this broke a 4-for-40 lull coming into Friday.

The 25-year-old Rule-5 selection passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier in the week and will return to the Dodgers. McDaniels registered a 5.91 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and a 6/8 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings in 10 appearances with the Angels. He’ll add extra bullpen depth for the Dodgers.

Yamamoto has struggled in two of his last three starts, with a strong outing against the Cardinals sandwiched between. The 26-year-old gave up a pair of homers, and he threw just 54-of-102 pitches for strikes while issuing five walks. It’s hard to panic too much considering how good Yamamoto has been for the overwhelming majority of his sophomore campaign, but you can’t completely ignore it. He’s scheduled to face the Padres on Wednesday in San Diego.

It’s the first time that Glasnow has faced live hitters since landing on the injured list. The 31-year-old right-hander worked just one inning in the simulated game, but it’s still a large step in the right direction toward a return to the Dodgers’ rotation. Expect him to repeat the exercise another time or two before we start hearing mentions of a minor league rehab assignment.

O’Neill will not do any baseball activities for a week. The outfielder will then likely restart his rehab assignment, and if things go well he could be back in the Baltimore lineup by the end of June. That will depend largely on how O’Neill reacts to the injection, however.

The 21-year-old phenom had started each of his first four games since joining the Red Sox on Monday, but he’ll get a breather against tough southpaw Carlos Rodon on Saturday evening in Boston. Rob Refsnyder will start in his place in right field and hit out of the leadoff spot for the Red Sox with Jarren Duran sliding down to the fifth spot in the lineup.

The 23-year-old slugger has been shelved since May 29 due to inflammation in his left wrist. He took a few at-bats on a minor league rehab assignment over the past two days and was deemed ready to return. He’ll start in right field and bat seventh against Jose Quintana and the Brewers on Saturday afternoon in Milwaukee.
