Gipson-Long hit the injured list back in early July with neck stiffness. The 27-year-old would help bolster Detroit’s rotation depth ahead of the trade deadline, if he can make it back relatively quickly. He might end up stay in the minors since Keider Montero has done a nice job as the club’s fifth starter.

Clark and fellow Tigers top prospects Kevin McGonigle and Josue Briceño, who were all promoted earlier this month to Double-A Erie, anchor a junior circuit lineup that is jam-packed with intriguing talents. McGonigle might be the top pure hitter in the minor leagues and has cemented his status as a legitimate top-five prospect for dynasty purposes thanks to his blend of elite plate skills and consistent hard contact. The rest of the lineup features fellow elite shortstop prospect Sebastian Walcott in addition to fascinating slugger Jhostunxon Garcia, also known as The Password. Here’s the full lineup: Clark (CF), Braden Montgomery (LF), C.J. Kayfus (1B), Garcia (RF), Harry Ford (C), Briceño (DH), Walcott (3B), McGonigle (SS), Lombard Jr. (2B) and Parker Messick (P).

The 24-year-old outfielder lined an RBI triple into the gap in right-center off of Luis Castillo in the sixth inning, pulling the Tigers to within two runs at 4-2. He then scored on a sacrifice fly, but that wound up being the extent of the Tigers’ scoring. With his two-hit attack he’s now hitting .281/.334/.529 with 22 homers, 73 RBI and one stolen base.

Skubal struck out five batters on the evening while issuing a pair of free passes. The M’s scratched out a run against him in the second inning on an RBI “triple” by Donovan Solano that Parker Meadows dove for and couldn’t come up with. They then broke it open with three in the fifth inning including a two-run blast by Julio Rodriguez. The star southpaw got 15 swings and misses on 87 pitches on the evening, registering a CSW of 28 percent. He finishes a terrific first half with a 10-3 record, 2.23 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and a 153/16 K/BB ratio over 121 innings in his 19 starts.
