Pham got the Pirates on the board with an RBI single in the second inning and then added an insurance run with another RBI single in the seventh. The veteran hit .302/.373/.488 in 43 at-bats in June with two home runs and 12 RBI. He could potentially be a trade deadline target for contending teams needing a bench bat, and that would open up playing time for Nick Yorke in the outfield for Pittsburgh.

Yorke has now homered in two straight games with hits in five straight and seven of his last eight. The 23-year-old hit .279/.347/.372 in June with one home run, 14 RBI, and two steals. The Pirates could move on from veterans like Tommy Pham and Adam Frazier at the deadline, which could finally open up some MLB at-bats for Yorke.

He’s now up to 28 steals on the season to go along with 15 home runs, which is propping up his fantasy value that would otherwise be torpedoed by a .210/.322/.416 slash line. The 26-year-old has been disciplined a few times this year for a lack of hustle, and his defense has not shown signs of improvement in center field. Given his poor defense and clear frustration, it might make sense for the Pirates to see what they can get for a talented player with major contact concerns. In the meantime, fantasy managers should continue to put Cruz in their lineup if they need stolen bases, but if you’re doing well in that category, you could also explore trading or benching Cruz.

Keller’s name has come up in trade rumors repeatedly in recent weeks, especially linked to the Chicago Cubs, so this was a nice audition for him. He didn’t miss many bats with just an 18 percent whiff rate, but he had a 25 percent CSW on the back of strong command of his four-seam, sinker, and slider. The average exit velocity on balls in play off Keller was almost 93 mph, so this feels like a game where he got a little bit lucky. He’ll take a 3.64 ERA into a start against the Royals next week.

Schneider was in the lineup against a right-hander for just the fourth time this season and came through nicely, homering off Will Warren in the first and lefty reliever Tim Hill in the seventh. They were his second and third homers in 71 plate appearances this season. He’s batting .228/.380/.421 while mostly playing versus southpaws.

What a revelation Collins has been in batting .270/.375/.423 in 194 plate appearances for the Brewers. His exit velocity numbers aren’t very good, and the power production probably won’t be there to keep him relevant in mixed leagues for long. He could remain solid from an OBP standpoint, though, and he’s been very good defensively in left field.

It appears to be just a routine day off for the 27-year-old outfielder. Jake Bauers will start in his place in left field and will bat seventh for the Brewers against Antonio Senzatela and the Rockies on Saturday afternoon in Milwaukee.
