Anderson had some adrenaline today; not only was his velocity up some, but he stayed in the game in the sixth after taking a hard comebacker off his shin that had him bleeding through his red sock. Fortunately, he got out of the inning, which was surely his last regardless, while the next batter was up. Runners on first and second were both due to take off with the count full and two outs, but Austin Wells left first too early and was essentially picked off. Very unfortunately, it ended up going as Anthony Volpe’s seventh caught stealing of the year; Volpe did nothing wrong, but he was the easier out of the two while being forced by Wells to run to third. Anderson dropped to 2-5 with a 4.56 ERA. He’ll face the Red Sox next.

Soler has struggled all season, hitting just .207/.280/.350 with eight home runs, 26 RBI, and a 30 percent strikeout rate. This back injury might be an opportunity to place him on the injured list and give him a brief reset. Jo Adell will move to right field with Soler out of the lineup, and Scott Kingery will start in center field and bat seventh.

Paul Goldschmidt started off the inning by getting on thanks to an error by Luis Rengifo, but Jansen was able to pitch around the base runner with two flyballs and a strikeout of Anthony Volpe to end the game. Jansen has an inflated 4.56 ERA on the year, but also 15 saves, which is keeping him on the fantasy radar. For now.

Adell got to Ryan Yarbrough in the fifth inning for his 14th home run of the season. It was a 112.9 mph shot that traveled 436 feet. Over his last 30 games, Adell is hitting .244/.352/.533 with eight home runs, 16 RBI, and two steals. He also has just 22 strikeouts in those 30 games, which is a big improvement for him. His batting average may never be high, but the power will be a huge asset if he can keep his strikeouts in check. Adell deserves to be added in most formats while he’s hitting well right now.
