Moncada has his first homer since returning from the injured list from right knee inflammation Tuesday. The 30-year-old has shown some solid power in his limited action in 2025 with seven homers and a .491 slugging percentage, and he’s gotten on base at a decent .326 clip. It’s nice to be reminded of the player who was once universally considered the best prospect in baseball.

With the score tied at 5-5 in the ninth inning, d’Arnaud singled to left to give the Angels the win after coming off the bench. The 36-year-old is hitting a disappointing .234/.279/.423 on the year, but he’ll be thought of fondly for at least a day after the walk-off knock.

This makes back-to-back starts that Anderson has given up eight hits, and it’s safe to say he isn’t exactly fooling hitters at this stage of the season. He walked two with three strikeouts, and an ERA that was 3.39 before the start of June is now up to 4.34. Anderson will assuredly be one of the first few starters for the Halos after the break.

The 26-year-old southpaw will provide a fresh arm to an Angels’ bullpen that has been heavily taxed recently. Eder has pitched well in five appearances with the Halos this season, posting a 3.38 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 4/4 K/BB ratio across 5 1/3 innings of work.

It appeared that the Orioles pulled him for defense, as he’s still learning the finer points of playing first base. Mayo is 10-for-47 with no homers and four doubles in 15 games since being recalled from Triple-A on May 31. One can still dream of him offering mixed-league value at some point during the second half, but it’s not happening right now.

With Jordan Westburg back and Ramón Urías still available, there’s very little need for Mayo at third base right now. There still should be ample opportunity for him first and DH, but he’s going to have to step up and claim it; he’s been on the bench the last two times the Orioles have faced righties.

Mayo has been taking defensive reps at the cold corner since returning to the majors last week and will make his first career start at the position on Wednesday night in Seattle. The extra defensive versatility helps give him another avenue to at-bats in Baltimore’s lineup moving forward.
