Wheeler coughed up a solo home run to Austin Hays in the fifth inning, but was pretty much flawless apart from that. He had 21 whiffs on the day with a 40 percent CSW. He did a tremendous job locating the fastball up in the zone and got plenty of whiffs on his sweeper low and away from righties. Wheeler will now take a 2.17 ERA into a start against the Padres next week. Obviously, he never leaves your lineup.

Stott came to bat against Tony Santillan in a tie game in the eighth inning and launched a ball 405 feet at 105.8 mph for a two-run home run that put the Phillies on top. The 27-year-old has six home runs and 37 RBI on the season and is coming off a tough month of June, where he hit .202/.287/.262 with 11 RBI and eight runs scored. Stott swings a lot, but has been able to make enough good contact to sport a strong batting average despite his aggressive approach. Perhaps he needs to make a tweak or two in order to get back on track.
