Traded to Milwaukee at the February deadline, Porter had his moments during the regular season and the Bucks’ first-round series against the Pacers. His option for the 2025-26 season would have paid Porter $2.5 million, so the decision to test the open market is not a surprise. With Damian Lillard (Achilles) set to miss most of next season, if not all of it, and Ryan Rollins being a restricted free agent, the Bucks have a clear need at point guard. However, they don’t have much money to spend in free agency.

With Damian Lillard (Achilles) set to miss a significant portion of the 2025-26 season, keeping its other key players on board is critical for Milwaukee in free agency. One of those players is Portis, a fan favorite who has been consistently productive throughout his time with the Bucks. The third year of his new deal will be a player option. Having finished the 2024-25 season ranked just outside the top-100 in eight- and nine-cat formats, Portis’ Yahoo! ADP will be higher due to Lillard’s absence.

After two seasons at Ohio, Sears transferred to Alabama and flourished under head coach Nate Oates. A two-time All-American, the 6-foot point guard averaged 18.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 2.4 three-pointers per game in 2024-25. Sears shot 40.3 percent from the field, a decrease of 10 percentage points compared to the 2023-24 season, and his effective field goal percentage dropped by 11 percentage points to 49.4. Along with his size, the decrease in efficiency is a concern. However, Sears can be a factor offensively, especially when put in positions where he can play downhill. While Sears is on a two-way deal, he joins a Bucks team that needs depth at the point guard position due to Damian Lillard’s Achilles tendon rupture. That isn’t enough to make the rookie a viable option in fantasy drafts, but he’ll be worth watching.

The 39-year-old Temple said at the end of the Raptors’ season that he wanted to keep playing. He’ll do so with the Raptors for a third consecutive season. Temple only played in 28 games in 2024-25, but he has been an essential figure for the rebuilding Raptors within the locker room. However, he won’t impact fantasy basketball next season.

Batum’s option for the 2025-26 season was worth $4.9 million. While there’s likely to be interest in the veteran forward among teams with postseason ambitions, Batum is not guaranteed to leave the Clippers. According to Charania, Batum and the Clippers have a mutual interest in agreeing to a new deal.

The 2023 second-round pick has flashed some upside throughout his first two seasons in the NBA, but he hasn’t seen the floor much. At 21 years old, Rupert still has plenty of time to figure things out, but it is unlikely that his place in the rotation changes next season. He’ll become a restricted free agent next summer.
