To get a player of Walker’s experience level on a two-way contract is a shrewd piece of business by the 76ers. The 57th overall pick in the 2022 draft, Walker appeared in 60 games last season, averaging 5.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 12.5 minutes. During the 2023-24 campaign, Walker started 23 of the 72 games he played, averaging 8.9 points and 7.1 rebounds in 23.6 minutes. With a healthy Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond, Walker’s minutes will likely be limited next season, but he’ll have some value on nights when Philadelphia is shorthanded in the post.

Despite his first season in Philadelphia being a disappointment, Gordon will return to the City of Brotherly Love for another run. Before a wrist injury ended his season in late February, the veteran guard made 39 appearances (13 starts) and averaged a career-low 6.8 points with 1.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 three-pointers. A positive for Gordon was that he shot nearly 41 percent from three. His contract is for the veteran’s minimum, and fantasy managers should not expect too much from Gordon if the 76ers manage to remain healthy.

McCain played like one of the best rookies in the NBA last season before a knee injury ended his rookie campaign in mid-December. While he is expected to be ready to go when the 2025-26 season begins, the 76ers are taking a conservative approach to McCain’s recovery. He won’t play during Summer League, which means the ball should be in lottery pick VJ Edgecombe’s hands even more. During his media availability on Tuesday, the rookie said he’ll be sharpening his point guard skills during Summer League. The ability to play on or off the ball would boost Edgecombe’s value, especially in dynasty leagues.

With the Heat losing Duncan Robinson to the Pistons, they received a player from Detroit via sign-and-trade. Fontecchio provided depth off the bench in his first full season with Detroit, averaging 5.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 three-pointers in 16.5 minutes per game. While Miami needs shooting in the aftermath of Robinson’s exit, getting Fontecchio won’t be enough. Regarding fantasy basketball, he isn’t a player who should be targeted in fantasy drafts this fall.

Having exercised his $20 million early termination option on Sunday, Robinson’s chances of staying with the Heat were slim. On Tuesday, he found his next home, with the Pistons acquiring the veteran sharpshooter via sign-and-trade. In exchange for Robinson, the Pistons sent Simone Fontecchio to Miami. The Heat’s franchise leader in three-pointers made, Robinson averaged 11.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.6 three-pointers per game last season. With Malik Beasley being the subject of a gambling probe and Tim Hardaway Jr. leaving the team to sign with the Nuggets, adding Robinson gives Detroit a valuable three-point shooter heading into next season.

Minott had his team option declined by the Timberwolves only days ago. A second-round pick in 2022, the 22-year-old power forward averaged just 6.0 minutes per game for the Timberwolves last year. While he struggled to carve out a legitimate role last year, he showed flashes when he was afforded minutes. Minott could have a better chance to establish himself in Boston with the Celtics losing a good amount players in free agency and superstar Jayson Tatum likely to miss the entire regular season.
