It’s important to note that Beasley has not been charged with a crime. However, this is a serious development for a player who will be one of the top available free agents on the market when free agency begins on Monday. Appearing in all 82 games, Beasley averaged 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steals and 3.9 three-pointers for the Pistons. According to Charania, Beasley and the Pistons discussed a three-year, $42 million deal before the investigation came to light. Those talks have been paused. This situation also impacts starter Tim Hardaway Jr., who will be an unrestricted free agent.

Filling the void left by trading away franchise point guard De’Aaron Fox is not an easy task, and Schroder certainly isn’t a long-term solution. However, he is a legitimate lead playmaking option and could run the offense. That would likely result in both Malik Monk and Keon Ellis coming off the bench, barring other moves. Sacramento would be a strong landing spot for Schroder to provide fantasy value, especially as a source of assists.

Langdon’s words, which were told to Cunningham directly during his exit meeting before the executive discussed the matter with the media, should not be seen as an indictment of the Pistons’ point guard. He played in a career-high 70 games in 2024-25, leading Detroit to its first postseason appearance since 2019. Expectations will rise for Cunningham and the Pistons, meaning he has to be even better in the future. “The big thing for him, and we talked to him about it, get into elite shape,” Langdon said, according to the Detroit News. “He is incredibly skilled and talented. He understands the leadership of it. He now has a little bit of late-season and playoff experience, he knows how it feels. So, now, he has an understanding of what he is training for in the summer. If you have never experienced playoff basketball, you don’t understand the level you have to go to. He should be training for the first and second rounds of the playoffs. Not just Game 45 (of the regular season) anymore.” Entering this season with a Yahoo! ADP of 27, Cunningham was a top-10 player in eight-cat formats. He’ll likely come off the board during the second round of standard league drafts, which is reasonable for a player of his caliber.

Beasley provided a spark in the first half as he came off the bench and made six threes. Five of his threes came in the second quarter, which the Pistons won by 16. Beasley’s biggest shot was a buzzer-beater before the end of the first half, which gave the Pistons as two-point lead. With the Pistons down three at the end of the fourth quarter, Beasley couldn’t corral a pass from Cade Cunningham, resulting in a turnover and sealing the win for the Knicks. The 28-year-old shooting guard is set to hit free agency this offseason, but Beasley has expressed interest in staying with the Pistons and an agreement on a contract that makes sense for both sides wouldn’t be surprising.

Harden held a player option worth a little over $36.3 million for the 2025-26 season. His decision to opt out and agree to a new deal gives the Clippers added financial flexibility, as the second year is a partially guaranteed player option. Returning to Los Angeles has given Harden’s career a needed boost after disappointing stints with the Nets and 76ers. “The Beard” finished last season as a top-10 player in eight-cat formats and top-15 in nine-cat. Given his importance to the Clippers, Harden should again be an early-round pick in fantasy drafts.

Not long after deciding to decline Mitchell’s team option, the Thunder have secured his immediate future in Oklahoma City. The 38th overall pick in the 2024 draft, Mitchell averaged 6.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in his 36 appearances. A toe injury suffered on January 3 sidelined him for over three months. Mitchell does not offer much fantasy value in his role, but he’ll provide additional depth off the Thunder bench.

After three seasons in Utah, Sexton is on the move, with the Jazz sending him and a future draft pick to Charlotte. The scoring guard appeared in 63 games last season, averaging 18.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.7 three-pointers in 27.9 minutes. Primarily a points and assists option, Sexton finished the season ranked outside the top 150 in nine-cat formats. With Utah’s point guard situation including Keyonte George, Isaiah Collier and first-round pick Walter Clayton Jr., Sexton being moved is unsurprising. His fantasy value in Charlotte may be limited, but there could be opportunities to provide value due to LaMelo Ball’s injury history.
