While the NBA Draft was the focus on Wednesday, with Philadelphia selecting Baylor’s VJ Edgecombe third overall, Morey also had to answer questions regarding Embiid. After undergoing left knee surgery in April, just before the end of the regular season, there were questions regarding the 2023 MVP’s availability for the start of the 2025-26 season. According to Morey, Embiid is on track to be good to go around the time that training camp begins in late September. His injury history will give many fantasy managers pause at draft time, but a healthy Embiid can be one of the best players in the NBA and fantasy basketball.

Acquired from the Mavericks at the trade deadline in exchange for Caleb Martin, Grimes made an extremely positive impression on the 76ers. With Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George sidelined due to injury, Grimes recorded some gaudy stat lines during the “silly season.” Unsurprisingly, keeping the restricted free agent in Philadelphia is the team’s desire. According to Stein, his sources say re-signing Grimes remains a “priority” for the 76ers. In a healthy rotation, his fantasy ceiling is considerably lower than it was when Philadelphia was shorthanded. That said, re-signing Grimes will be critical for the 76ers, whose bench disappointed for most of the 2024-25 season.

Scotto also passed along that the 76ers have four draft prospects in mind with the No. 3 overall pick. Those include VJ Edgecomb, who had a private workout last week, and Ace Bailey, who will visit the 76ers next week. Dylan Harper is the consensus No. 2 player in the draft and would seem to be the 76ers target in talks with the Spurs. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst previously speculated the 76ers could trade up, trade down or trade out with the No. 3 overall pick.

Bagley has taken advantage of his opportunity with Philadelphia. He’s on a second 10-day contract, and he was able to record his second consecutive double-double in this game. He set new career highs for both rebounds and steals after recording a 20/10 double-double on Friday. Bagley likely didn’t do enough to earn a standard contract, and he will probably be back in the G League next season. Still, it was cool to see him play this well.

Charania’s report indicated there is a lot of “uncertainty” in Boston with Jayson Tatum (Achilles) set to miss at least most of next season. The 39-year-old Horford could opt to sign elsewhere to try and win another ring, since the Celtics may not be able to put together a strong enough team to make that happen this season. Horford would play a significant role if he remains in Boston now that Kristaps Porzingis is in Atlanta. If he chooses to leave, multiple contenders should have plenty of interest.

Holmgren struggled offensively in this series, but he came through for his team in the title-clinching win. The big man knocked down 6-of-8 shots, hit five of his eight attempts from the charity stripe and made some monster plays on defense. So long as he can stay healthy, he should once again offer an early-round ceiling to fantasy managers thanks to his ability to hit triples and block shots.
