Nate Scheelhaase

Buccaneers interviewed Rams offensive assistant Nate Scheelhaase for their offensive coordinator vacancy.

Scheelhaase came aboard last year as a pass game specialist for the Rams after a college coaching career that was mostly spent at Iowa State. He was a quick riser, moving up from running backs coach to offensive coordinator in 2023 and picking up a new role every year or so. Scheelhaase played a starring role for Illinois in the 2010-2013 seasons as their starting quarterback, but failed to have much of a professional career. The 2011 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl Offensive MVP (an award that exists) is the first name we’ve seen officially interviewed for the Bucs as they try to fill Liam Coen’s role with yet another coach off the Sean McVay block.
