CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reports the Raiders requested to interview Seahawks defensive passing game coordinator Karl Scott for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

Scott could be the early leader in the clubhouse to land the Raiders’ defensive coordinator role. A holdover in Seattle from the previous Pete Carroll regime, Scott was hired by Carroll and the Seahawks in 2022 to serve as their defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator. He remained with the team last season under head coach Mike Macdonald but could be headed for a promotion if Carroll opts to bring him on as the Raiders’ DC this offseason. Scott, who first joined the NFL coaching ranks in 2021, has only held one defensive coordinator role, which came in 2014 with Southeastern Louisiana.
