Kelly (6’1/186) is a sixth-year prospect who didn’t break out until his fifth collegiate season when he caught 63 passes for 933 yards and eight touchdowns at Washington State. He then transferred to Texas Tech for his final season, where he led the team with 123 targets while posting a 90-1,052-5 line. It’s been a productive two-year stretch for Kelly, who turns 24 this summer, but concerns over his athleticism and inability to separate will follow him to the pros. The fact that he ran a 4.70 40-yard dash at the combine certainly didn’t do him any favors. His productive 2024 campaign at Texas Tech came on the heels of a career-low 7.3 ADOT, as 65.9 percent of his targets traveled fewer than 10 air yards. While he may get a chance to compete for a roster spot in camp, there’s a chance his lack of speed and separation skills will make him more of a practice squad candidate.
