Malachi Moore

Jets traded up with the Eagles to select Alabama S Malachi Moore with the No. 130 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Jets traded up to grab Moore while the Eagles opted to move back. Moore had an up-and-down five-year college career but ultimately found success after switching from slot cornerback to primarily playing free safety in 2024. Moore started as a true freshman in 2020 before losing the starting slot role to current Detroit Lions DB Brian Branch. Moore tied for the third-most pass breakups (seven) among Power Five safeties last season, and set career highs in solo tackles (52) and assists (18), while tying his career high in stops (20). Moore’s size (5’11"/196) could be a problem in run defense, but he does not shy away from contact.
