The MEAC offensive lineman of the year in 2023, Simpkins III transferred to South Carolina and started at right guard. Center was his primary position at North Carolina Central. The 312-pound guard ran a rough 5.45s 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. For a big guy, Simpkins III struggled a bit in the run game – he had 60 negatively graded plays against 49 positives in PFF’s charting. He’ll likely be trying to earn a spot at the end of a 53-man roster or on a practice squad.
