Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal includes $21 million guaranteed. Bush struggled mightily while on his rookie contract in Pittsburgh. The Browns eventually took a flyer on him after a year in Seattle and were rewarded with the two best seasons of his career. He started all 17 games in 2025 and led the Browns with 125 tackles. More importantly, Bush notched two sacks, two forced fumbles, and three interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns. If he can sustain that level of play, Bush will be a massive addition for the Bears’ defense.

Bush was arrested in May on charges of simple assault and harassment. The 27-year-old linebacker has been available for the Browns this season with his trial set for December, snagging two interceptions and making 93 combined tackles in 14 games so far. Oyefusi reports that court documents show Bush was found not guilty of the simple assault and harassment chargers on Tuesday. Bush is now clear to play the rest of the season.

Bush was arrested in May and faces charges of assault and harassment. The late trial likely means Bush will be available for the Browns for much of the season, as their regular-season schedule concludes on January 4th when they face the Bengals in Week 18, but a late-season suspension, or one to kick off the 2026 campaign, could be on the table should the league pursue one after the trial has concluded. Bush signed a one-year contract with the Browns this offseason after totaling 76 tackles, one sack, and eight TFLs for them last season.

Further details on the matter have not yet been released. Per the police report, Bush is awaiting preliminary arraignment. The Browns re-signed Bush to a one-year, $3.25 million contract in early March, following a 50-tackle season with the team in 2024.

Bush returns to the Browns after procuring 76 tackles as a part-time starter for Cleveland in 2024. The 26-year-old should be a rotational piece for the Browns, and the chances he ever lives up to the promise he showed in college and his rookie season with PIttsburgh are slim.
