Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers

NYJQB • #8

Aaron Rodgers completed 18-of-30 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-17, Week 2 win over the Titans.

It was a methodical game for Rodgers, and he was his confident and poised self in guiding a game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter, but he certainly didn’t excite from a fantasy perspective. It’s unclear whether Rodgers is rusty or the Jets’ offensive gameplan is uninspiring, but the 40-year-old seemed to have happy feet in the pocket and only averaged 5.9 yards per completion. Of his 18 completions, only eight of them went to wide receivers, and Rodgers didn’t take many shots down the field. Perhaps the improved health of Mike Williams will open up the Jets offense a little more, but, as of now, this seems to still be a ball control offense that will rely on the strength of its defense and rushing attack to win games. That will lower the fantasy ceiling for Rodgers.
