Jahan Dotson

Eagles acquired WR Jahan Dotson and a fifth-round pick from the Commanders in exchanged for draft picks.

The Commanders receive a 2025 third and two seventh-round picks in the trade. A holdover from the Ron Rivera regime, Dotson was at risk of losing his starting gig to Dyami Brown and Olamide Zaccheaus, who have reportedly been outperforming him in camp. The trade of Dotson likely means Dyami Brown will serve on the outside opposite Terry McLaurin, while Olamide Zaccheaus will get the first crack as the team’s starting slot receiver. The Eagles were in need of added depth behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Dotson should provide them with that depth, and can be used outside and in the slot in 11 personnel. It’s a nice trade for both teams and could result in the Commanders having an extra top-100 pick in next year’s draft.
