ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio believes the Eagles could target a running back in the NFL Draft.

Paolantonio said on the Pat McAfee Show that the Eagles could try to create a “thunder and lightning” backfield with Saquon Barkley — who signed a three-year deal with Philly this week — functioning as the thunder part of the equation. Paolantonio didn’t speculate who the rookie back might be, but any sort of draft capital spent on a running back could mean Barkley will share backfield touches in 2024. Kenneth Gainwell could function as the team’s RB behind Barkley.
