Ja’Marr Chase was present at Bengals practice but did not participate.

The Bengals are six days away from their Week 1 contest against the Patriots, and Chase has logged precisely one practice. There’s a good chance that even if Chase signs a new contract before Sunday, we may not see him suit up for the season opener. The situation remains fluid after ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said over the weekend that there was some sense that the team was ramping up its efforts to sign him before the start of the season. Chase seems committed to not practicing until a new deal is reached. We’ll see where things go from here.
