Jacoby Brissett

Jacoby Brissett

NEPQB • #7

Jacoby Brissett completed 12-of-18 passes for 98 scoreless yards in the Patriots’ 24-3, Week 3 loss to the Jets.

It was Brissett’s worst performance yet this season, which is really saying something. A sitting duck behind the Patriots’ horrendous offensive line, Brissett doesn’t have the mobility to extend plays. So they end. Quickly. Coach Jerod Mayo had finally seen enough late in the fourth quarter, where he decided to give No. 3 overall pick Drake Maye his first taste of regular season action. Maye was, predictably, routinely flushed from the pocket, but unlike Brissett, he actually managed to escape a few times. The quarterback change is coming, and soon, but probably not for Week 4 against the mighty 49ers on the road. Skylar Thompson’s Dolphins make more sense for Week 5.
