Jaguars HC Liam Coen mentioned Parker Washington and Dyami Brown as receivers who could serve as the team’s primary WR2.

It’s possible we’re reading too much into an April quote, but it’s something worth keeping in mind. When asked about who he views as the Jaguars’ primary options for the WR2, Coen said, “I think you look naturally now at Parker Washington and Dyami Brown at the receiver positions,” failing to mention last year’s WR2, Gabe Davis. Davis, whom the Jaguars signed to a three-year, $39 million contract last offseason, was woefully disappointing in his first season in Duval. He caught 20 passes for 239 yards and two scores while appearing in 10 games, but was shut down after Week 11 due to a torn meniscus. Coen failing to mention Davis may have been little more than an oversight, but there’s little reason to believe he has a solidified role in the offense after Trent Baalke and Doug Pederson were shown the exit door this offseason.
