NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Rams are “at least willing to eat some of the money” in a Cooper Kupp trade.

“Potentially paying down the $7.5 million signing bonus which a lot of that is fully guaranteed for Kupp, maybe easing the burden on an acquiring team,” Rapoport added. The Rams were also reportedly willing to eat some salary at the trade deadline when they explored moving Kupp, so this report jives with how things were handled in October. Kupp’s market figures to develop before free agency starts, and the potential for the Rams to take on some of the salary or for Kupp to re-do his deal perhaps opens up some locations with tougher salary cap situations like Houston, Buffalo, or Baltimore.
