Quentin Johnston (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday.

Johnston got banged up in Week 6. He played through the issue during that game but it became apparent that his injury was more serious once the adrenaline wore off. He was held out of the following two games, likely meaning he was dealing with a high-ankle sprain. Johnston’s limited return to practice is a step in the right direction for the second-year wideout. The Chargers are throwing more following their Week 5 bye, giving Johnston a chance to increase his usage once healthy. He will rank as a WR4 if active for Week 9 against the Browns.
