Troy Franklin

Troy Franklin

DENWR • #16

Troy Franklin caught 2-of-3 targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos’ Wild Card loss to the Bills.

Franklin got behind the entire defense on the Broncos’ fifth play from scrimmage and Bo Nix did not miss, hitting his fellow rookie for a 43-yard touchdown. Unfortunately, the Broncos’ first highlight of the day would go down as their only highlight of the day. 21 for the entirety of his rookie year — which is exceptionally young for a first-year pro — Franklin caught more than two passes only once and never bettered 50 yards receiving during the regular season. You could say he was brought along slowly. Coach Sean Payton loves role-playing wideouts, and he seems stuck on 6-foot-3 Franklin as a one-trick-pony boundary man for the time being. Franklin’s youth keeps him interesting in Dynasty leagues, but his career ceiling remains dubious.
