This comes a day after Hall said he expects to play, so this news isn’t all too surprising. Hall’s return could somewhat complicate the Jets’ backfield situation on Sunday, however, as Braelon Allen has played well in Hall’s absence, making a strong case for more touches even when Hall is healthy. Glenn declined to get into how he plans to divvy up his running backs’ touches next week, saying “both guys will play,” when asked about his plans. This was already shaping up to be a tough fantasy matchup on the road against the Chiefs, but a potential backfield split would only further complicate matters. Until we see how things shake out, both Hall and Allen should be viewed as mid-to-low-end RB2s.
Proctor missed last week’s game against the Patriots with a brain injury, but will be back in his normal left guard position for this week’s game against the Lions. In six games this season, Proctor has appeared on more than 350 offensive snaps, earning a PFF grade of 64.8 while allowing one sack and 13 pressures.
We already knew this deal would be done, but the two sides made things official on Friday. The Ravens will receive Brissett, along with a 2027 fifth-round pick from the Cardinals in exchange for a 2027 4th-round pick and a 2028 7th-round pick. Brissett will immediately step into a starting role for the Ravens when they face the Chargers in Week 10 and should provide an immediate upgrade over Joe Fagnano, who struggled mightily in his first career start against the Jaguars.
Wilson has not practiced this week and has now been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs. Wilson has caught 43 passes for 527 yards and three touchdowns this season and saw 12 targets in last week’s loss to the Raiders. His absence means both Adonai Mitchell and Omar Cooper should see expanded roles, but both players will be hard to trust as anything more than WR3s against a stout Chiefs defense. In addition to Wilson, the Jets also ruled out LB Trevin Wallace (groin) for Week 9.
This certainly sounds like a scary situation for Henderson, whose absence has been the subject of speculation for nearly two weeks. Henderson said that the results of “comprehensive medical testing have come back positive and reassuring, but he continues to work with specialists and physical therapists. Henderson said these issues have affected his “strength, coordination, and some of [his] physical functions,” while adding that he is working to return to full health. While we don’t want to speculate too much, it doesn’t sound like Henderson will be back anytime soon. Hopefully we will get more clarity on his situation soon, but our thoughts are with him and his continued recovery.
Pickens has been limited in each of the Cowboys’ first two practices to start the week, which would seem to be a good sign for his Week 9 availability. We’ll get a better sense of where things stand when the Cowboys release their final injury report on Friday and give Pickens a designation heading into the weekend, but Schottenheimer’s optimism is a good sign. Owner Jerry Jones advocated for Pickens getting the ball more this week after Week 8’s loss to the Cardinals, so if he is active, the star receiver could be primed for a bit of a squeaky wheel game in a plus matchup against the Colts.
Watson has not practiced this week due to concussion symptoms he has been dealing with since Week 8’s loss to the Steelers. Unless he surprisingly clears concussion protocol this week, Watson will miss Week 9, paving the way for Shedeur Sanders to make his first start of the season. We will have official word on Watson’s status in a few hours, but at this point, it would be surprising if he does start.
Pelissero calls this a “potential complication in [Aiyuk’s] efforts to secure his release by reporting to the facility Friday.” While it’s possible both sides reach a deal for Aiyuk to pay back that money, which would make this a non-issue, Pelissero said this could also end up going to arbitration, which may delay things. Aiyuk is scheduled to report to the 49ers’ facilities today, so we could have our answer in the next few hours about when this situation is resolved and Aiyuk has been granted his release. Aiyuk recently hired Drew Rosenhaus with the hopes of being reinstated into the league and with a new team soon. The 28-year-old last played in 2024.
Robinson was briefly listed as questionable only for head coach Kevin Stefanski to rule him out shortly after the initial report. Robinson was limited in practice throughout the week, but the Falcons are opting to play it safe, likely hoping another week on the sidelines will lower the chances of re-injury. Rookie WR Zachariah Branch (hamstring) has also been ruled out for the game after picking up an injury in last week’s loss to the Buccaneers.
Andrews, somewhat disgustingly, led the team in receiving with a modest 19 yards on a night undrafted free agent rookie quarterback Joe Fagnano threw for only 60 yards in his first career start. It remains difficult to start the veteran tight end, who has made more mental mistakes this season than he has receptions.
Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle did what he could to overcome undrafted free agent rookie Joe Fagnano under center, routinely putting Flowers in Motion across the formation to generate some level of misdirection for an offense with zero ability to attack downfield. That included three rush attempts and a completion thrown by running back Derrick Henry, but it wasn’t enough to salvage a usable fantasy week for the electric receiver. Fantasy managers can rest easy knowing help is on the way in the form of veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who was signed earlier in the week and will likely make his team debut when the Ravens take on the Chargers in Week 10. Flowers will return to upside WR2 range with the change at quarterback.
Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle did everything in his power to overcome an undrafted free agent rookie quarterback in his first professional start, going so far as to call numerous direct snaps to Henry and a Henry pass attempt, but it ultimately proved futile. Things appeared to be trending in the right direction as the Ravens played the Jaguars to a tightly contested game through the first 29 minutes before Parker Washington broke the game open with a 50-yard touchdown in the final minute before the break. Things got nasty for Henry after the half as he managed only two additional yards after bruising his way to 55 first half yards. Henry will return to RB1 status in fantasy circles in Week 10 when the Ravens take on the Chargers.
Hill became the first running back to amass more than 75 yards against the Jaguars since the start of the 2025 regular season with a 65-yard touchdown with the game well out of hand in the second half. It was an otherwise poor showing for the entirety of the Baltimore offense with a rookie undrafted free agent starting his first NFL game. Hill remains nothing more than a desperation FLEX ahead of a Week 10 meeting with the Chargers.
Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle did everything he could to scheme around a starting undrafted free agent rookie quarterback in his first NFL start, calling numerous exotic looks to include direct snaps to Derrick Henry, a Henry pass attempt, quick outs to Zay Flowers, Flowers rush attempts, and flea flickers, but it wasn’t enough to overcome poor execution, consistently off-target throws, and a lack of downfield ability. The Ravens also committed numerous pre-snap penalties as they continue to lead the league in that area through nine weeks, which killed multiple drives. Fagnano managed only 25 pass yards in the first half, finishing with a ridiculous 60 yards, while both interceptions came in the second half with the team in desperation mode. Fagnano leaves his first, and likely last, NFL start with a sour taste in his mouth, as he likely retreats to backup duties following the signing of veteran Jacoby Brissett earlier in the week.
Strange was overshadowed by the 52-yard reception from fellow tight end Nate Boerkircher on the team’s opening possession, but he made a really nice grab in triple coverage over the middle of the field to set up the team’s second score of the game. Strange remains unlikely to see consistent volume for as long as the Jaguars continue to so handily control games, something that appears likely to continue given the team holds the weakest strength of schedule for the remainder of the regular season. Fantasy managers likely have better options ahead of a Week 10 meeting with the Titans.
Both of Washington’s receptions came before the break, the second of which was a 50-yard touchdown on a double-move slant against Cover-0 with under one minute remaining before the half. Washington remains one of the most efficient receivers in the league but consistently positive game scripts have left the overall pass volume lacking, particularly in the second half this season. He remains an upside WR2 ahead of a Week 10 meeting with the Titans.
All four of Meyers’ receptions came before the half in what remained a tighter game until just before the half, when alpha wide receiver Parker Washington took a simple slant for a 50-yard touchdown with under a minute remaining before the break. As has been the case on numerous occasions this season, Jacksonville coasted in the second half, limiting overall pass volume after the break. Meyers narrowly missed his first touchdown since Week 3 as he was tackled at the one on the team’s first possession. He remains a viable FLEX option ahead of a Week 10 meeting with the Titans.
Tuten started after failing to practice in any capacity this week, capping off the opening drive with a score from one yard out. He would split time with Chris Rodriguez for the rest of the first half before giving way to the combination of Rodriguez and special teams ace Ameer Abdullah for the bulk of the second half with the game in hand. Tuten should see his volume tick back up toward lead back territory when the Jaguars face off against the Titans in Week 10, where he will return to RB2 status.
It was business as usual for Lawrence and the Jaguars, who won their eighth game by 20 or more points since the start of the 2025 season, the most in the league during that span. Lawrence looked sharp throughout, starting things off with a touchdown drive on their opening possession that was sparked by a 52-yard completion to tight end Nate Boerkircher. He would hit Parker Washington on a slant for a 50-yard touchdown in the final minute before the half to push the lead to 17-3, with a flurry of second half field goals enough to chase the reeling Ravens from the field. In standard Jacksonville fashion, positive game script capped Lawrence’s aerial volume, something fantasy managers have both gotten used to through the mid way point in the season and will likely see continue considering the Jaguars hold the league’s softest remaining strength of schedule. The win pushes the Jaguars to 6-2 and extends their lead in the AFC South ahead of a Week 10 meeting with the one-win Titans, where Lawrence will remain a back end QB1 due to lack of volume.
Well, that’s good, because it will assuredly take a record-setting deal to keep him in a Ravens uniform. Jackson has an $84.34 million salary cap hit next season, so the team has to do something with his contract. Jackson has a no-trade clause and a no-franchise tag clause — he possesses a ton of leverage. Per Palmer, the two sides will not negotiate a new deal in-season, so they will try to get something done between the end of the season and the beginning of free agency, which starts in March 2027.
