    Adley Rutschman

    Adley Rutschman

Adley Rutschman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.

It was Rutschman’s fourth home run of the season and maybe the only thing that went right for the Orioles on Sunday. The 27-year-old has struggled to start the year with a .208/.299/.390 slash line, but he’s barreling the ball a ton and not swinging and missing a lot, so now is the time to buy low if the fantasy manager in your league is worried about the slash line.

    Recap

Gunnar Henderson went 2-for-5 and clubbed a two-run homer on Sunday, powering the Orioles to a 7-3 victory over the Angels in Los Angeles.

The 23-year-old superstar shortstop led off the game with a double to center off of Tyler Anderson and scored on Adley Rutschman’s triple that Taylor Ward lost in the sun. Henderson then capped off a four-run uprising in the sixth inning with a 386-foot (104.7 mph EV) two-run shot off of Connor Brogdon that extended the Orioles’ advantage to 7-2. With his two-hit effort, Henderson is now hitting .264/.307/.473 with five homers, nine RBI and three stolen bases in his first 32 games on the season.

    Recap

Jose Herrera went 1-for-3 with a double and drove in the Diamondbacks’ lone run in Sunday’s loss to the Dodgers.

The 28-year-old backstop finally got the Snakes on the board with a run-scoring double off of Ben Casparius in the seventh inning, pulling them to within four runs at 5-1. That would be as close as they would get. On the season, he’s now slashing .205/.286/.341 with a homer and five RBI in his first 52 plate appearances.

    Hunter Goodman

    Recap

Hunter Goodman homered, tripled, doubled and drove in five runs as the Rockies bounced back to defeat the Padres 9-3 on Sunday.

A nice send off for Bud Black, who was let go after the game. Goodman’s homer was his first since Apr. 28, and the triple was his first since 2023. The double, though, might have been the most interesting of his hits. His line drive on Wandy Peralta left the bat at 116.2 mph, a new career high for him by 1.5 mph. It seems like a good sign for his future. However, with six road games coming up, this isn’t the time to pick up Goodman in fantasy leagues.

    Alejandro Kirk

    Injury

Alejandro Kirk was removed from Sunday’s game against the Mariners after being hit in the back of the mask on a back swing.

Kirk finished out the inning, but it sounds like after consulting with the training staff the Jays decided to take the cautious approach and give him the rest of the afternoon off. He’ll presumably be put through the concussion protocol just to make sure that he checks all the boxes before returning to action. Tyler Heineman replaced him behind the dish on Sunday and would be in line for more action if Kirk is forced to miss any additional time.
