Rooker singled off of Sean Burke in the opening inning and rode home on Tyler Soderstrom’s first three-run blast. He then singled in the sixth inning and once again rode home on a three-run bomb by Soderstrom. The 30-year-old slugger also worked a walk to start the ninth inning and raced around to score on an RBI double off the bat of Shea Langeliers. He’s off to a bit of a slow start at the plate this season, slashing .205/.256/.411, though he does have four home runs and eight RBI to his credit.

Gelof has been shut down from swinging for the time being and there is no timetable for his return yet. The 25-year-old second baseman got into three games last week for Triple-A Las Vegas before suffering the injury. He was working his way back from late-March surgery to repair a hamate fracture in his right hand. There should be some clarity on his status in the coming days, but fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back in the near future.

Mason Miller was unavailable after blowing a save on Saturday night, so the A’s went to Ferguson, who has allowed just one run on seven hits in 16 1/3 innings this season. Ferguson didn’t allow a single baserunner in the effort, but there is absolutely no closer battle here.

Yelich gave the Brew Crew a 3-0 lead with a two-run blast off Ronel Blanco. That homer and the steal later in the contest put him at six homers, seven steals and 25 RBI over 36 games. He’s also hitting just .210, but at least the counting stats haven’t been abhorrent for the former MVP.

Winker was officially placed on the injured list ahead of Monday’s contest against the Diamondbacks and will likely be sidelined until mid-to-late June. The 31-year-old’s absence creates a void at DH against right-handed pitching. There’s an opportunity for youngsters Luisangel Acuña and Brett Baty to get increased opportunities in the coming weeks.

Winker’s absence frees up some additional at-bats at DH for the overabundance of talent on New York’s roster. The 31-year-old veteran suffered the oblique strain during Sunday’s doubleheader against the Cardinals and is facing a multi-week absence. No word yet on the severity of the strain, which will determine how much time he misses.
