Keith got a third straight start today after being on the bench four of the previous five games. His homer was hit 109.6 mph, which is a new regular-season high for him. He topped that at least a couple of times this spring, when it looked like he’d take a step forward as a sophomore, but he’s instead been very passive at the plate, and he came into the day with just two doubles and three RBI in 85 plate appearances. Maybe things will start to change now. At least he no longer looks like a candidate to be sent to Triple-A to make room for Manuel Margot’s return this weekend.

After a hot stretch at the end of April, McKinstry is now 4-for-31 (.129) with 13 strikeouts and just four walks in nine games to start May. He doesn’t need to be held in shallower formats.

Olson struck out five, walked one, and gave up three extra-base hits on the day. The right-hander has a mediocre four-seam fastball, so he relies heavily on his changeup and slider for success. He struggled to command his changeup today, and he needs both of those secondaries working for him to handle a lineup like Texas’. Things will get a little easier next week against Toronto, and Olson can handle anybody when those two seconaries are working, so he’s worth rostering in most formats.

Flaherty was already giving up more hard contact than usual this season, and it really caught up to him tonight. He has surrendered 13 earned runs over 13 2/3 innings in his last three starts, taking his ERA from 2.63 to 4.61. We wouldn’t give up on him in mixed leagues right now, especially since he’s in such a good situation in Detroit. Still, those who had excessively high hopes based on his first few weeks need to keep their expectations in check.

The versatile 32-year-old victimized Blue Jays’ starter José Ureña for a 403-foot (104.3 mph EV) solo shot to lead off the third inning. That would be the only run that the Mariners could muster in the ballgame. Moore has been terrific when he has been on the field for the M’s this season, slashing a healthy .282/.330/.553 to go along with seven homers, 12 RBI and seven stolen bases (11 attempts). He’s worth a look in any and all mixed leagues where he may still be hanging around on the waiver wire.

Romero was a highly-touted pitching prospect a couple years ago in the Rays’ system, but didn’t have any success at the highest level. The 27-year-old righty last appeared in the majors back in 2022 when he made four appearances (two starts) between the Rays and Nationals. He’s merely extra organizational starting pitching depth and a true reclamation project at this stage of his career.

Arizona continues to give Marte regular rest after returning earlier this month from the injured list without a rehab assignment. The 31-year-old fantasy star blasted two homers during Friday’s loss to the Dodgers and has gone deep three times in his last three contests. It’ll be rookie Tim Tawa getting into the lineup at second base on Sunday afternoon.
