Hernández will undergo a precautionary MRI following an early exit from Monday’s series opener against the Marlins with left hamstring tightness. Roberts added that it’s “a little concerning” at the moment. It certainly sounds like there’s a chance the 32-year-old fantasy standout winds up requiring a trip to the injured list. There should be some additional clarity on his status prior to Tuesday’s contest at loanDepot park.

The homer was a two-run shot off Sandy Alcantara in the third. Freeman is the active major league leader in hits, RBI, runs scored and doubled, but he’s a mere fourth in homers, trailing Giancarlo Stanton (429), Mike Trout (387) and Paul Goldschmidt (365).

Casparius struck out five after replacing Jack Dreyer in the second inning. He got up to 70 pitches tonight, so the Dodgers might give him a start next time through the rotation, though he’s probably more valuable for fantasy purposes in the bulk role, which increases the chances of him getting a win. He’s worth a roster spot in mixed leagues.

The Dodgers didn’t think they’d need a closer tonight, but Yoendrys Gomez turned a 7-1 lead into a 7-4 game in the eighth. Tanner Scott took over to get the final two outs of that inning, setting up Yates to pitch the ninth for the second time this season. He blew his previous chance back on Apr. 19. Yates figures to continue to set up for the most part.

Carpenter smacked a two-run double off of Jack Kochanowicz in the second inning that extended the Tigers’ early lead to 3-0. He then walloped a 1-0 sinker from Michael Darrell-Hicks for a 413-foot (106.8 mph EV) three-run blast to center field in the sixth inning, making it an 8-0 ballgame. With his three-hit attack, the 27-year-old slugger is now slashing a robust .295/.316/.554 to go with eight home runs and 19 RBI on the season.

It’s difficult to read too much into the Astros’ lineup Sunday with Yordan Alvarez, Cam Smith and Chas McCormick on the bench. Still, Dezenzo seems to be getting more playing time lately and he rewarded the Astros’ faith Sunday with two hits and his first home run of the year. Dezenzo isn’t going to set the world on fire with his bat, but he’s up to a .283 average and could be an option in deeper formats if playing time continues to break his way.

It’s been a bit of a slow start for Butler, who is slashing just .250/.317/.417 on the season, but he has six steals and continues to lead off regularly for the Athletics. Given that he now plays his home games in a minor league park that is going to get really hot in the next month or so, we may start to see a hot stretch from Butler coming up.
