There was no evidence of a setback last night. Torres was activated from the IL without the benefit of a rehab assignment, so it was probably just scheduled that he’d play two out of three in his first weekend back. Colt Keith is at second base today. With Spencer Torkelson at first, it opens up the DH spot for Justyn-Henry Malloy.

Greene’s contributions in the first game were mostly on defense, as he made a pair of fine catches in left. In the second game, he opened the Tigers’ scoring with his homer off Charlie Morton in the third. It was his first long ball since Apr. 4, when he hit his third in seven games to open the year, and it gave him his first three-RBI day of 2025.

Two outs shy of a win, but Montero did his job as the Tigers’ 27th man today. He’ll return to Triple-A possessing a 5.93 ERA in his three spot starts for the Tigers this season.

No surprise. Montero will get the ball against the Orioles after being selected as the 27th player for the twin-billing against the Tigers. The right-hander is stretched out enough to work deep, but it’d be a risky streaming option against the quality Baltimore lineup.

Edman came up big for the Dodgers with a two-run single in the bottom of the 10th that turned a 6-5 deficit into a victory. Edman has now driven in 21 runs in 28 games, and that hit sees him slashing .248/.288/.514 on the young campaign. Edman’s average leaves much to be desire, but he’s made up for it with the power and run production.

McLain snapped an 0-for-21 hitless streak with a seventh-inning single and immediately swiped second base for his fourth theft of the season. The 25-year-old speedster has gotten off to an ice-cold start this season, hitting .162 (12-for-74) with four homers and four steals through 20 games. We’re anticipating he’ll turn things around soon simply because he’s way too talented to continue struggling for much longer.

The triple should have been a single, but Alex Call made a flailing dive at it and watched it roll by him. McNeil’s homer was more impressive, traveling a projected 420 feet to right-center. Barring a correction, that’s the farthest he’s hit a ball since 2019. He topped out at 402 feet last year and 400 feet in 2023.
