Brewers’ right-hander Quinn Priester had the Tigers’ hitters baffled on Tuesday, with Torres’ leadoff double into the gap in right-center in the sixth inning accounting for their only knock in the ballgame. Despite a trip to the injured list, Torres is off to a strong start to the 2025 campaign, slashing .364/.440/.545 with a homer, four RBI and a stolen base through his first six games.

Carpenter smacked a two-run double off of Jack Kochanowicz in the second inning that extended the Tigers’ early lead to 3-0. He then walloped a 1-0 sinker from Michael Darrell-Hicks for a 413-foot (106.8 mph EV) three-run blast to center field in the sixth inning, making it an 8-0 ballgame. With his three-hit attack, the 27-year-old slugger is now slashing a robust .295/.316/.554 to go with eight home runs and 19 RBI on the season.

It took until April 30 for Keith to hit his first home run of the season on Wednesday against the Astros. He then went on to swat another pair over the weekend against the Halos including a 392-foot (106.5 mph EV) two-run blast off of Jack Kochanowicz in the third inning on Sunday. He also drew a walk and singled on Sunday, finishing the afternoon 2-for-3 with three runs scored. While the overall season slash looks troublesome at .181/.327/.313, it’s actually better than he was doing at this point last season and he absolutely crushed for the final five months of the season. Perhaps his bat is finally waking up and a similar run is in order.

Sweeney opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI single off of Jack Kochanowicz in the second inning, then scored on Kerry Carpenter’s two-run double. Sweeeney then crushed a 393-foot (100.4 mph EV) three-run homer off of Jose Fermin in the seventh inning that increased the Tigers’ lead to 11-0. He put the cherry on top of the victory with a two-run single in the ninth inning. The 25-year-old shortstop has been swinging a hot bat as of late and is now hitting .234/.317/.355 with three homers and 15 RBI on the season.

This didn’t look good. Callihan suffered what appeared to be a serious-looking left arm injury when he collided with the left-field wall while attempting to make a sliding catch during the bottom of the third inning. The positive news here is that he was able to walk off the field under his own power while holding his left arm. There should be an update on his status shortly.
