The White Sox took a 2-1 lead in the top of the 10th, but it wasn’t enough. The homer was Urias’s fourth in just 46 plate appearances this season. He’s taken over as the Athletics’ second baseman since Max Muncy was sent down, and while his defense is an issue there, his bat deserves to be in the lineup; he’s hitting .275/.348/.575.

With the scored tied 0-0, Soderstrom laced a two-run double off Patrick Corbin to give the A’s the lead and ultimately the victory. The 23-year-old first baseman has been exceptional over the first month of the season with 24 RBI over 29 games and an OPS of .940.

Miller did put the tying run on base with a walk, but he was able to keep that runner at bay while firing another scoreless outing. It’s a nice bounceback from Friday’s scuffle where he allowed two runs, and he remains perfect in save chances with a 9-for-9 rate. Miller is a special reliever who has a chance to be among the best in baseball for a very, very long time.

Sears scattered five hits, and issued just one walk. He was more deceptive than overpowering with his stuff — as is usually (always) the case — as he generated just six swing and misses among his 89 pitches. He was able to land 62 of those offerings for strikes in another soli start for the southpaw. He’s now 4-2 on the season, and his ERA has dropped to a very solid 2.94 in the process. He gets a friendly matchup against the Marlins next week.
