Oof. The 22-year-old phenom had exploded out of the gate in his first taste of the big leagues, slashing a ridiculous .368/.538/.526 with a pair of RBI and five stolen bases in his first seven games. No word yet on just how much time he’s going to miss but it’s going to be an extended absence.

After breaking an 0-for-41 funk during Wednesday’s game, Pederson was able to reach twice with a single and walk Friday while driving in his first run as a member of the Rangers. There’s no denying that Pederson has been dreadful to begin 2025, but he’s been far too effective of a hitter to believe he can possibly be this bad for much longer. The positive regression is already taking place.

It looks to be just a routine night off for Burleson, though it’s odd that it would come after an off-day and while the Cardinals are facing a right-hander. Nolan Gorman will serve as the team’s designated hitter and will bat fifth against the Brewers on Friday night.
