Julien also led off the sixth with a walk, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Byron Buxton’s RBI triple. All five at-bats produced hard-hit balls, so this could have been an even better day for France. His double was a 384-foot shot to right-center in the sixth that would have been a homer in four ballparks. His next at-bat resulted in a 370-foot flyout to left that would have been a homer in 14 parks. France entered the day in a 3-for-32 slump that had dropped his OPS to .649. Still, because of the Twins’ injuries, playing time hasn’t become a concern here yet.

Clemens jumps directly to Minnesota’s active roster in the wake of top prospect Luke Keaschall suffering a fractured right forearm during Friday’s series opener against the Angels. The 28-year-old infielder was removed from Philadelphia’s roster earlier this week after going 0-for-6 in limited action. He’s merely emergency bench depth at this stage of his career.
