As expected, Vientos will sit out Sunday’s series finale at Citi Field following an early exit from Saturday’s contest with groin discomfort. It’ll be Brett Baty taking over at the hot corner in his absence.

Megill struck out seven tonight, but the contact against him was pretty hard and he gave up runs in three of the first four innings. The loss leaves him 3-3 with a 3.10 ERA, and while we’d use him in mixed leagues most weeks right now, a road start in Yankee Stadium makes him a weak play next week.

No Help for Baty: The Story of the 2025 Mets. Baty also homered Friday. He’s started three games in a row after sitting out the first two following his recall Monday. There’s a pretty good argument for giving him a real look at this point, and it doesn’t have to be wholly at Mark Vientos’s expense with Jesse Winker on the IL. He wouldn’t be a bad bench stash in mixed leagues.

The interesting wrinkle here is that the Mets are rolling with Brett Baty at the hot corner for the third straight game over Vientos. The 25-year-old has managed to turn things around following a disastrous start to the year, but he’s still not making a significant impact for fantasy purposes.

Suárez absolutely shellacked a pitch from Dustin May out for a solo homer, and it traveled an estimated 455 feet. That’s the 12th homer of the season for the slugger, and he’s been able to drive in 27 runs; putting him on pace for another 100-RBI season.

Sending down Jung when Matt Vierling is activated seems like the obvious call for the Tigers, but at least his exit velocity and strikeout numbers are both better this time around than in his initial audition with the Tigers last year. His defense at third seems improved, too. It’s possible he’ll be a decent regular come 2026.

Bohm has started to show some signs of life, hitting .315 (17-for-54) with one homer and six RBI over his last 15 contests, following an abysmal few weeks to kick off the season. It’ll be Edmundo Sosa getting an opportunity at the hot corner on Saturday afternoon in his place.
