Urías’ second inning home gave the Orioles an early lead that they would never relinquish despite some shaky moments from their bullpen. There’s been a constant public outcry from the fantasy baseball community against Urías’ playing time over some highly regarded prospects during the past years, but he’s been one of the most productive bats in Baltimore to this point in the season with a .757 OPS.

Bautista continues to look more and more like himself with each passing appearance. His fastball touched 99 mph for the first all season here and he made quick work of the Yankees in a one-run game. While his stuff hasn’t been particularly sharp to this point, there’s a good chance he’s still shaking off the rust from missing last season following Tommy John surgery.

Povich had some command issues in this one. He allowed home runs to Aaron Judge and Paul Goldschmidt on pitches that were literally right down the middle and was around the heart of the plate far too often. Otherwise, he was missing badly with his secondary pitches, especially his changeup and curveball. Povich needs some semblance of consistency from those pitches to get right-handed batters out, but they combined to force just one swing-and-miss and zero swings outside the strike zone. Alas, he’s lined up for a two-start week coming up against the Twins and Angels.

It remains to be seen how long the decision lasts, but the Orioles can probably get by with a four-man rotation for the next week or two due to off days. Morton has been shifted to the bullpen after tossing 2 1/3 frames on Tuesday against the Yankees. It’ll be Dean Kremer, Tomoyuki Sugano and Kyle Gibson taking the ball for a three-game series against the Royals that gets underway on Friday.

Bregman took Blue Jays starter Yariel Rodríguez deep in the opening frame for his seventh big fly of the season. It was his lone hit in four at-bats. The 31-year-old third baseman has been sizzling-hot at the dish of late, batting .383 (23-for-60) with five homers and 12 RBI over his last 15 games.

Lee put Minnesota on the scoreboard with an eighth-inning solo shot off reliever Hunter Gaddis. The 24-year-old former top prospect figures to continue playing regularly between second and third base until Willi Castro (oblique) is ready to return from the injured list.

The homer off Cal Quantrill came in his 90th at-bat of 2025. Muncy entered this year having homered once every 14.6 at-bats in seven seasons with the Dodgers, so he definitely has some ground to make up.
