Detroit was able to sneak Margot through waivers and keep him in the organization without taking up a 40-man roster spot. They’re going to roll with Javier Báez in center field for now and he’s looked fantastic in his first opportunity at the position. The 30-year-old outfielder will remain stashed at Triple-A Toledo as emergency depth.

Vierling has been limited to DH in his first two rehab games, but he should get back into the field at some point in the coming days. The 28-year-old has been out since late March recovering from a right shoulder strain. He figures to make it back to Detroit by mid-May.

Skubal is completely fine from a health standpoint. The Tigers have elected to give him an extra day of rest instead of having him take the ball during Thursday’s doubleheader at Coors Field. It’s a welcome development, and a huge break for fantasy managers, as the 29-year-old ace will no longer have to contend with Colorado’s high-octane offensive environment.

Margot has gone 4-for-15 with three strikeouts through five games, starting three of them in the outfield. Since Margot has gone on the IL, Javier Baez has moved to centerfield and is playing pretty well. It’s unclear what Margot’s role would be if/when he returns.

Laureano hit a solo homer off Simeon Woods Richardson in the third inning. The veteran outfielder also doubled and scored another run in a solid fantasy outing for the 30-year-old. Laureano is only hitting .207 with a .254 on-base percentage, but that comes with a solid .483 slugging mark.

Myers laced a two-run double off of JP Sears in the fourth inning to tie the game at two apiece. Myers has been solid in limited duty this season and has been playing more with Jesus Sanchez sidelined, but he’d likely only have fantasy value if Sanchez were to go on the IL.

After Dustin May left the game, Myers came on to hit for Matt Mervis off southpaw Anthony Banda, and he slaughtered a ball over the center-field fence to turn a 5-1 deficit into a 5-5 game. He also singled, and he improved his slash to a strong — and totally unsustainable — .315/.327/.463. He does appear to see the ball pretty well against southpaws, however.
