Edman was responsible for all of the offense for both teams, as his three-run jack broke up a 0-0 tie. That’s already the sixth homer of the season in 15 games for Edman, who was not exactly known for his power while a member of the Cardinals. The Dodgers have clearly found something, but some homer regression is (obviously) coming.

It’s the first bullpen session for Ohtani since he came back from the paternity list. The 30-year-old remains without a timeline for a return to the mound, but he continues to make progress with a great chance to contribute as a hurler over the summer. There’s just no guarantees.

The Yamamoto v. Paul Skenes pitching matchup was advertised through the first four innings — even with Yamamoto allowing a run in the first — but then the 26-year-old struggled with his command in the fifth while allowing two more to score. He walked four in the contest with 58-of-94 pitches landing in the strike zone, and he was able to strike out five with 10 swings and misses accumulated. He still has a glistening ERA of 1.06 ahead of his scheduled start against the Marlins next week.

McLain snapped an 0-for-21 hitless streak with a seventh-inning single and immediately swiped second base for his fourth theft of the season. The 25-year-old speedster has gotten off to an ice-cold start this season, hitting .162 (12-for-74) with four homers and four steals through 20 games. We’re anticipating he’ll turn things around soon simply because he’s way too talented to continue struggling for much longer.

The triple should have been a single, but Alex Call made a flailing dive at it and watched it roll by him. McNeil’s homer was more impressive, traveling a projected 420 feet to right-center. Barring a correction, that’s the farthest he’s hit a ball since 2019. He topped out at 402 feet last year and 400 feet in 2023.

Not great. Westburg winds up hitting the shelf after an MRI on Monday revealed a strain. No word yet on how much time he’s going to miss, but fantasy managers should anticipate a multi-week absence, even if it’s on the milder side. The 26-year-old infielder was just starting to settle into a groove at the plate, hitting .310 (9-for-29) with one homer and two RBI over his last seven games. It’ll be veteran Ramón Urías taking over at the hot corner in his absence.
